2019 Has been an incredible and expansive year for A Genie's Dream! I invite you along on my journey so you can get a behind the scenes experience of A Genie’s Dream, and to give you an idea what we have been up to this past year; the adventures we've been on and where we've been getting inspiration for 2020.
It's been a wild ride since we launched back in 2017 and we have been very fortunate to spread the Genie Magic across the United States.
Once spring started to bloom, I traveled to Costa Rica to find inspiration for more eco-friendly, sustainable products and packaging. Ideas need room to grow and what better place to brainstorm than the jungle?! I also wanted to glean knowledge from the local Costa Rican communities to get ideas on how to collaborate with more local communities in the future. Listening to the synchronicity and natural magic of the jungle was the perfect place to brew up new ideas.
Costa Rica inspired us to connect with other company founders across the United States who cultivate brands that promote a conscious way of living.
In August I ventured to New York City and attended the Indie Beauty Expo. I was blown away by the innovation of some of the newest brands coming to market in 2020. I met with innovators from all over the globe and was amazed and inspired by the product ingenuity and sustainable packaging that was used by cutting edge beauty brands. For example, I love products that inspire imagination like the IBY “Inspired by you” beauty brand from Southern California. They do such a fabulous job with their packaging! I loved meeting with the company VP and brainstormed on how we could showcase their products in the future (stay tuned!) I also met the founder of Viking Beauty Secrets - a Norwegian beauty creme made ethically for women, by women. These wonderful women making a difference in their community and I am excited to collaborate with them in the future!
In October I was invited to attend the Subscription Trade Association Conference in Chicago where I met other subscription box founders who are making a positive impact in their communities. I loved hearing the story of Pura Vida bracelets and how they're created a ripple effect of people helping each other aspire to greatness through a simple product such as a bracelet. I'm also excited to announce that we'll be collaborating in the future with the "Pose Box" and we'll be joining forces with them at the Yoga Beauty Expo in LA in January.
It's the people you meet, and the beauty of shared experiences and collaboration that really make all the difference in making your dream come to life.
